Thank you for requesting tax exempt status with CMC. Our process has recently changed and will continue to improve as we integrate with Avalara Tax Software.
If you represent a CMC Dealer, please submit your tax exempt resale certificate to CMC Customer Support. You will receive follow-up notices from Avalara to keep certificates up to date.
If you represent an agency, company, or department that is requesting tax exempt status, please complete the following steps:
- Create a website account, you must have an account to be recognized as tax exempt later.
- Select the items you’d like to purchase on the website and navigate to the checkout page.
- Complete the tax exempt request portion of the checkout and upload your certificate.
- Submit your order with tax still showing in the total. Your card will be authorized for the full amount.
- If you are approved, sales tax will be removed from your order and you will receive confirmation.
- If you are not approved, we will notify you and request additional information.
- Once you are approved, our website will recognize you as tax exempt when you login to your account.
- This final step may take 24-48hrs. It also requires using the same email at checkout.
- You will receive follow-up notices from Avalara to keep your certificate up to date.
