REQUEST TAX EXEMPTION

Thank you for requesting tax exempt status with CMC. Our process has recently changed and will continue to improve as we integrate with Avalara Tax Software.

 

If you represent a CMC Dealer, please submit your tax exempt resale certificate to CMC Customer Support. You will receive follow-up notices from Avalara to keep certificates up to date.

 

If you represent an agency, company, or department that is requesting tax exempt status, please complete the following steps:

  • Create a website account, you must have an account to be recognized as tax exempt later.
  • Select the items you’d like to purchase on the website and navigate to the checkout page.
  • Complete the tax exempt request portion of the checkout and upload your certificate.
  • Submit your order with tax still showing in the total. Your card will be authorized for the full amount.
    • If you are approved, sales tax will be removed from your order and you will receive confirmation.
    • If you are not approved, we will notify you and request additional information.
  • Once you are approved, our website will recognize you as tax exempt when you login to your account.
  • This final step may take 24-48hrs. It also requires using the same email at checkout.
  • You will receive follow-up notices from Avalara to keep your certificate up to date.
