CMC’s Confined Space Rescue Technician course is an intensive 40-plus hour experience designed to build confident and knowledgeable confined space entry and rescue technicians. This course is fundamental material for rescuers in fire departments, industrial, hazmat, and disaster response teams.
Students will be taught:
- Patient packaging and recovery
- Supplied air breathing systems
- Communication systems
- Team evaluation
- Pre-planning, permitting, and compliance laws regulations and standards
- Lockout tagout
- Atmospheric monitoring and ventilation principles
- Rescuer safety and PPE
- Tripods and artificial High anchor points
- Rope systems for confined space entry and Rescue
The course gives the opportunity to show proficiency in many of the requisite job performance requirements as outlined in chapter 7 of NFPA 1006 under both operations and technician designations. Students should be prepared for both classroom discussion and full days of arduous physical activity.
