Chris Boyer is an experienced domestic and international emergency professional with roots in law enforcement, search and rescue and technology. Chris is the Executive Director for The National Association For Search And Rescue (NASAR).
Involved in SAR and law enforcement since February of 1995, Chris has been an OES Cadaver Dog Handler and Evaluator with his partner Scout, a Labrador Retriever, and is a court recognized expert on Scent Behavior for Search Dogs. Chris was the CA OES SAR Canine Mutual Aid Coordinator for many years. A graduate of the OES search management class in 1996 and the National SAR School in 2000, Chris has been teaching the Direction and Control of the Search Function Class since 2000. Chris served as the County Emergency Services Manager for the Contra Costa Operational Area from 2003 to 2010 when he retired. Chris was the Vice-President Operations for Kenyon International from 2010 through 2013 where he managed the response and recovery of First Air 6560 crash above the arctic circle, National Air 102 crash in Bagram, and the Al-Shabab attack on the In Amenis gas plant.
